The "Scoop" from Enfamil...

Since apparently I touched upon a universally wondered-about formula question... here's the official answer. ;)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Erin:

Thank you for contacting Mead Johnson, a recognized name in pediatric
nutrition. When powder formulas are added to water, you will yield an
extra 0.2 fl oz of formula for every scoop of powder used because each
scoop of powder displaces about 0.2 fl oz of water. (For example, 4 fl
oz of water and 2 scoops of powder will yield approximately 4.4 fl oz
of prepared formula.

Always use the scoop that comes inside the can of powder. To prepare
Enfamil (R) LIPIL (R) with Iron from powder, add 1 level scoop of powder
for every 2 fl oz of water. It is important to follow the label
directions to determine if your scoops should be packed or unpacked.

Thank you for choosing our Enfamil LIPIL with Iron for your son. LIPIL
promotes brain and eye development. If you have additional questions,
Erin, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Tonya
