I was working on goody bag ideas for Ben's rock climbing birthday party (9! He'll be 9!!!) next month and I was telling him some of my thoughts:
Me: So I was thinking maybe rock candy, pop rocks, and chocolate candy that looks just like rocks... cool, huh?
Silence....
Me: Ben...Get it? Rocks? Rock climbing?
Ben: (dead seriously) But I'm not into geology right now.
Me: Well, yeah but it's a ROCK-climbing party...
Ben: Yeah, but I'm not into actual ROCKS. That's geology.
Me: You know what, just nevermind. Go back to Minecraft.
Sheesh. Tough crowd.
