Christmas Questions...

When do you start Christmas shopping? October, generaly

Are you finished shopping? I have ONE more thing to get for Tom since the Ebay auction I was watching last night ended WAY higher than any price I was willing to pay. :( Otherwise, I am technically done, but always picking up little things here and there for people. I guess I'm never really finished until Christmas Eve!

How many people are you buying for? Somewhere between 15-20...?

What are you leaving out for Santa? Hrm... hadn't thought about it. But I guess we'll do the cookies and milk thing with Ben this year, and probably Reindeer Chow outside since the preschool gives it to them. ;) (thanks, Beth!) hee...

Name 3 things you want for Christmas: A steam cleaner, various camera accessories, an IPod hookup for my car

Are you traveling this year? thankfully, no. Looking forward to Disney in January though!

What kind of stockings are hung at your house? Tom and I have cute Santa and snowman stockings that I bought the first year we moved into the house and the boys have red fleece/satin ones that I glitter-glued their names on. Once we are sure our family is finished, whenever that is, I want to get a set of really nice embroidered ones for all of us.

Do you have a fireplace/ chimney? Sadly no. It will surely lead to some fancy Santa-story creations someday soon. We had a "Santa key" but Ben snapped it in half during his "Hold keys!!!" phase about two years ago.

Favorite things to get in your stocking? Tom doesn't ever stuff my stocking. :( But my mom and MIL do cool ones with all kinds of silly, fun little things in it. Those are the best stocking gifts, I think.

Any family traditions? New Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve, opening one gift on Christmas Eve (but Tom fights me on this, he's a firm "Christmas Day only" gift person), the Disney train under our tree (which Ben nows starts asking for around October)

What foods does your family have every year at Christmas? It varies...

Who is the most fun to buy for? Ben, Simon and my niece

Who is the easiest to buy for? see above

Who is the hardest to buy for? Tom

Who gives the best gifts? my Mom

Any movies/specials you have to watch every year? A Christmas Story, Charlie Brown Christmas, The Grinch

Who passes out the presents? We take turns

Main stores you have shopped at this year: Mostly Amazon, a handful of other online stores

What kind of tree do you have? (sigh) Currently, none. I think I have ALMOST talked Tom into an artificial one though for next year!

What are your 3 favorite ornaments on your tree? Our 2001 Disney ornament from our honeymoon, each of the kids' first Christmas ones

What adorns the top of your tree? A silver wire star

Do you collect anything Christmasy? hallmark keepsake ornaments (I buy the kids their age one every year, one disney one, and sometimes one other one that catches my eye), the singing Hallmark snowmen (initially against my will, but I have come to love them)

Whose kids are you buying for this year? mine and my niece

Can you name all 9 reindeer? Actually, I don't think so!

Ever watch Ernest Saves Christmas? once or twice

What's your favorite Christmas drink? Egg Nog.. until I saw how many calories are in it! (keeping my SIL's answer to this one)

Do you like Eggnog? See above.

What flavor candy canes do you like? the fruity ones

When do you take your tree down? second week of January or so... though I'm usually itching to get rid of it about two days after Christmas.

Is Christmas still magical for you? It lost its magic when I was working retail and with all the family strife that can come with being married and having spread the time around... the magic is only now just returning, thanks to Ben's enthusiasm for the holiday

What is your favorite thing about Christmas? Christmas Eve, the the song "O Holy Night", Christmas trees lit up at night, the traditions, cookies!!!

Do you donate at Christmas time? Right now, only to the school's Elf Shop, which in turn donates to a charity... I keep missing the window for the ones I want to do. Next year though, next year!

Do you make sure to remember the TRUE meaning of Christmas? Absolutely, and I hammer it home with my kids (mostly the older one right now) as much as possible.

How many nativity scenes do you have in your house? My little ceramic set and the Little People one that the kids play with
