The Baby Human Family 2007 Tree Hunting...

This was the first tree we encountered. I heart it. Wouldn't it look nice with a little Linus blanket around the bottom? :)


Eventually, we came upon THE tree and Tom and his brother Taylor felled the monstrous conifer. ;) (though I can't remember if this is OUR "the tree" or my inlaws' "the tree"... but whatever. It was obviously the right choice, because, as you can plainly see, God shown down upon it.


Ben gave some pointers...


And Simon was cold and sleepy. (he was all wrapped up papoose-style and hanging off of me in the hip hammock thing)


This is Ben saying "Timber!"


And then he ran off... can you find him in this picture?


Then came the traditional dragging of the tree... thank goodness I'm a chick, because in our family, chicks don't have to do any of this Christmas tree chopping/dragging/fitting it into the tree stand nonsense. That's for the menfolk. Otherwise, we'd have an artificial tree before you could say, "Bah! Humbug!"


This is Ben "helping" carry the tree. Can you see his hand on the one tiny branch? ;)


This is Ben and Simon's Uncle Taylor and Aunt Sarah making gooey lovey dovey eyes at each other... but in sunglasses...so you can't see said eyes.


And here's our tree getting netted...you know, so it can't escape on the way home.


I will post this one of Simon by himself in his adorable tree-chopping shirt because...


... he looks half drugged in this one... but this one is the only one of them together where Ben is actually looking at the camera. (his Pap is to blame because yes, that is a pocketwatch in Ben's hand and yes, his Pap handed it to him just before I started snapping) ;P


Then we came home and started decorating...


Turns out, decorating a tree/house for Christmas with two small children is a difficult endeavor. Especially when one is insistent on crawling around on the floor and finding ornament hooks to chew on, and the other is so excited by the whole event that he keeps running and jumping and nearly stepping on Christmas balls.

(sigh)

But we did finally manage... so there are pictures of our dressed up tree coming soon...

Also to be noted, these pictures are not a particularly good testament to the quality of the new camera... I'm still figuring out some settings. But who has time to read instruction manuals? ;)
