After his nap this afternoon, we headed downtown to make use of our aquarium membership. Thought maybe the cool new Australian section might be open, but sadly, no. Apparently, "Opening Fall 2005!" doesn't mean yet. They must be holding out for December 20. It was a fun visit anyway. Ben laughed a lot at the turtles and crabs and fishies.
After that, we wandered around the harbor since it was such a pretty day. Took in some sights and some music and stopped in to watch the guys at the Fudgery do their thing.
I love the Fudge guys. They are one of my favorite parts about downtown Baltimore. They make fudge every hour and put on a little show for onlookers... everytime I've seen it, they've thrown in new jokes. Today's best one went something like this: (they tell you in the beginning you have to yell really loud back at them to get your free samples at the end)
Fudge Guy: Do you want to know how much they pay us here?
Us: YES!!!!!
Fudge Guy: Minimum wage, that's what they pay us. C'mon, say "awwwww!"
Us: Awwww...
Fudge Guy: But you should be happy because if they weren't paying us minimum wage, do you know what we'd be doing?
Us: WHAT?!
Fudge Guy: We'd be out there opening ya'llz cars with screwdrivers and driving away!
So now how do you feel about minimum wage?
Us: YAY!
Fudge Guy: That's what I thought!
Oh and you can't beat the free samples. Yum. :)
So that was our day. Now Tom is watching the Ravens game and Ben is sitting amidst a pile of toys not getting into trouble for a change.
