My kids played on a trampoline at a friend's neighbors house yesterday... now I'm so tempted. We had been looking at those Rainbow Play systems because of a flyer we got in the mail a couple days -- they are hugely on sale right now... but this trampoline. MAN was it fun.
Anyone have thoughts on this?
I guess my biggest concerns are:
a) safety... don't to have kids we invite over breaking their necks on my watch.
b) Those things are UGLY. My neighbors are gave us the stinkeye for our giant inflatable waterslide (which we now hide deeep in the backyard when we set it up). I fear if we put up a trampoline they may vote us off the island or something.

A Year Later...
So we moved into our house a full year ago. Some things are finally coming together, i.e. we have living room furniture. (wahoo!) However, a lot of things are in the same state as they were when we burst through the door with a million boxes and just threw things "eh! Wherever!"
My kitchen is still a mess... not a literal mess, it looks okay at first glance... but anyone who cooks a lot and visits my house tells me it's completely unorganized. So, I need to get on that... my pantry is also a disaster, as are lots of other little, hidden spots like the linen closet, our bedroom closets and many, many drawers.
Also, because we now have extra space, I have gotten out of the habit of purging things. I was a pro at this at the townhouse out of sheer necessity and a need for order. I used to rotate out the toys and Goodwill things constantly. I haven't done any of this in a full year. Need to get back in the habit, lest we will up every last inch of extra space we have.
There are still remnants of the old owners I need to eradicate... our bedroom and the master bathroom being the biggest offenders. There is also the gross, stained, college-party carpet in the basement that I'm not sure how much longer I can live with. Oh, and the basement storage room that has become the catch-all for everything we have no place for, as well as random large pieces of trash, like rug scraps and boxes.
Rather than feel overwhelmed by it all, I've been trying to tackle one disorganized place at a time... literally, one thing a day... that's how you eat an elephant, so they tell me... one bite at time, right?
Today it was the pantry.
Additionally, I have about a million unfinished projects here and there. I can't think about it for long or I start going crazy. At the top of my list are Jonathan's scrapbooks... I'm... oh, let's see... 20 months behind... 29 if you count the pregnancy scrapbook I've never gotten to.
At what point do you decide you are just too far behind to ever catch up and just give up and start from where you are?

Maybe, Just Maybe We'll Sell it After All?
We had a showing at the townhouse on Memorial Day. I didn't have any expectations, gotta say... though it was kind of exciting to finally get one after three weeks of completely no action on that front. The next day, we got another another showing and when I logged onto the showings site, I could see it was a second showing with the same realtor. First time in the two months we've have the house up for sale that we've gotten a second showing.
Later that night, after the second showing, we got a feedback response, which I actually thought meant it was another "thanks but no thanks" because people who put in offers generally don't leave feedback. (because why would they?! It can only hurt their position, right?) Anyway... the feedback was pretty average, just like the last one. (sad, vacant house) :( But at the bottom, under "other comments" were the words, "My buyer will be making an offer."

We got a call from our realtor two days ago giving us the lowdown on the potential buyers' situation. Her house had JUST gone under contract the day before she saw our house and she was just waiting on the inspection repair requests from her buyers before making us her offer. Our realtor warned us it would be a few days.
It's been three and we're still waiting, but I did get an update yesterday that the buyer's realtor asked if we could settle at the end of June and that it looked like the inspection stuff on her end was almost worked out. So we're expecting something VERY soon. I just hope it's reasonable and something we can work with.
Among my many awesome neighbors in that neighborhood is the man across the street, Mr. Jon, who, I have since learned is actually a realtor. He stopped me at the bus stop yesterday to ask me how it was going and to tell me that the potential buyer and her realtor had stopped him on Tuesday and talked to him at LENGTH about my house! APparently, they were concerned about the kitchen not being updated, but he told them he thought that even without a total update, it was still a beautiful kitchen.
He also told them my house should be selling for easily 10-15K more than we are asking and that they'd be getting a fantastic deal at the price we're asking. (love that man, LOVE him!) He also told me their other concerns were the steps (they need to be repoured because over the years settlement has taken its toll on them... it's been the latest neighborhood project next to roofs and windows) and the sidewalk in front of the house (but that's county's problem).
So at least we have a heads up as to what they are going to use as their leverage with their offer. They did say on the feedback form that they felt my house was "priced about right", so their offer can't be too far off from our asking price... I'm hoping, anyway... we'll see!
